Who publishes this site

Health Encyclo is an independent health reference site produced by a small editorial team. We do not claim to employ a panel of staff physicians, and we do not attribute articles to named clinicians. Everything you read here is published under one byline: the Health Encyclo Editorial Team. If an article does not carry a named, verifiable expert, that is because none reviewed it - not because we left the name off.

How our content is produced

We use AI language models to research and draft articles, and every article is checked by a human editor before it is published. Concretely, each article goes through these steps:

1. Research. We gather source material from medical literature, government health agencies, and professional society guidelines.
2. AI-assisted drafting. A large language model produces the first draft from that source material. This is an AI-assisted process and we disclose it rather than hide it.
3. Automated quality checks. We check for broken links, missing citations, unsupported claims, and content that duplicates existing articles.
4. Human editorial review. An editor reads the draft against the cited sources, removes claims the sources do not support, and corrects anything that reads as medical advice rather than general information.
5. Translation. Articles are published in seven languages. Translations are machine-produced and human-checked, and are held to the same standard of completeness as the English original.

What this means for you: our articles are a starting point for understanding a topic and for asking your own clinician better questions. They are not a substitute for an individual medical opinion, and we do not present them as one.

How we select sources

We prefer, in this order:

• Systematic reviews and meta-analyses (Cochrane, PubMed-indexed).
• Clinical practice guidelines from professional societies (for example ACOG, ADA, AHA, AAP).
• Government and public health bodies (NIH, CDC, NHS, WHO, EMA, FDA).
• Peer-reviewed primary research, when no synthesis exists.

We avoid, and do not cite as evidence:

• Commercial health products and apps citing their own marketing pages.
• Content farms and unattributed aggregator sites.
• Single case reports presented as general guidance.

Where a topic is genuinely contested or the evidence is thin, we say so in the article rather than picking a side and presenting it as settled.

Corrections

If you find an error - a factual mistake, an outdated recommendation, a broken or misattributed citation - tell us and we will fix it or take the page down.

• Email [email protected] with the article URL and a short description of the problem.
• We aim to acknowledge every correction report within 5 business days.
• Substantive corrections are applied to the article and the page's last-updated date is changed so the change is visible.

Advertising and affiliate disclosure

This site is funded by display advertising and affiliate links. Advertisers have no input into which topics we cover or what our articles say, and editorial decisions are made before any commercial consideration. Where an outbound link earns us a commission, that does not change our recommendation and does not cost you anything.
